Bill Donegan, CFA

Bill Donegan was appointed Orange County Property Appraiser by Florida Governor Jeb Bush in February 2001. This appointment follows many years of active involvement in the Central Florida community and as an elected official.

He was elected in 2002 as the Orange County Property Appraiser with 63% of the vote. As the Property Appraiser, Mr. Donegan will continue the emphasis on information technology and customer service with the goal of easier, quicker and friendlier service.

Bill was first elected to public office in 1986 as a city councilman for Maitland, Florida.

Bill was then elected as Orange County Commissioner in 1988 and re-elected to serve an additional 4 year term in 1992.

During his term as a County Commissioner, he chaired of the following boards:

International Trade Task Force
Econlockhatchee River Preservation Task Force
Orange County's Procurement Task Force
Orange County's Emergency Medical Services
Orange County's History Museum Task Force

In 1998, Governor Jeb Bush appointed him to the Florida Commission on Ethics.

During his administration, the Property Appraiser's budget never exceeded the county's guidelines of three percent (3%) annually. As Orange County Property Appraiser, Bill Donegan has earned special praise from Orange County Chairman, Richard Crotty, for actually trimming his budget request.
